Terms of Service
Effective 2026-07-26. These are the terms between you and Cannon Potter for the use of VolleyRecruiting. Using the service means you accept them.
1. What the service is
VolleyRecruiting is a tool that helps a volleyball recruit do four things:
- Keep an athlete profile with the details college coaches ask for.
- Upload match film, mark clips, and publish a highlight reel at a shareable link.
- Write one introduction message and address it to many programs, with each coach’s name and school filled in.
- Keep track of who has been contacted and when, alongside what the NCAA rules for that division say about the timing.
The service does not send email for you.It opens a pre-filled draft in your own mail app. You read it, you send it, and it arrives from your address. This is a design decision, not a limitation: a coach’s reply should come back to you, and a message going out under your name should be one you actually read.
2. Who may use it
- You must be at least 13 to hold an account, and at least 18 to enter a paid subscription.
- If the athlete is a minor, a parent or guardian should be the one paying and should know the account exists.
- You are responsible for what happens under your login. Keep the password to yourself.
3. Your content stays yours
Your film, your photos, and your profile remain yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display them only so far as running the service requires — for example, transcoding a video so it plays, or showing your reel on your public page when you have turned that page on. We do not use your film to advertise the product, and we do not license it to anyone.
Only upload film you have the right to upload. Match footage often involves other people’s children and sometimes a club or filming service holds the rights to it. If someone tells us you have posted footage you do not have rights to, we will take it down.
4. Subscription, renewal, and cancellation
VolleyRecruiting costs $19.99 per month. It renews automatically every month until you cancel. There is no free trial. The first charge is taken when you subscribe, and the same amount is charged every month after that on the same date, until you cancel.
- Cancel any time, from the Billing page in your account. It takes one click and does not require emailing us or talking to anyone.
- Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew again.
- We do not automatically refund a period already started. If you think a charge was a mistake, email cannon.potter1@gmail.com and we will look at it — but nothing on this page promises a refund, and you should not subscribe expecting one.
- If the price changes, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. A price rise never applies to a period you have already paid for, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Recruiter accounts
A recruiter can hold a separate kind of account, costing the same $19.99 per month, which lets them search athletes who have chosen to be findable. Registration is open — college coaches, club coaches, junior-college staff and evaluators — and every account gives a name, organisation and role. Four things about this matter to families and belong here rather than only in the app:
- A coach you email needs nothing. Your message arrives in their ordinary inbox from your own address. Nothing about this service asks a coach to pay in order to receive, read, or reply to you.
- No athlete is searchable by default, and that switch is the whole protection. Appearing in recruiter search is a separate setting on your profile, off unless you turn it on, and independent of publishing your public page. Because registration is open, anyone who pays can search the athletes who have turned it on. Read that setting before you use it.
- “Verified” means one specific thing. It means the account holder’s email appears on a college programme’s published staff page. It is a badge, not a requirement — an unverified recruiter can hold an account and search. We can refuse or withdraw any recruiter account at any time.
- Recruiters never see contact details. No email address, no phone number. Someone who wants to speak to an athlete waits for the athlete to write to them.
6. What this product does not promise
This is the most important section on the page, so it is not buried at the bottom in capital letters.
- No recruiting outcome is promised. Not a roster spot, not a scholarship, not a campus visit, not a single reply. What you are buying is a tool that makes contacting programs faster and better organised. Whether a coach is interested is entirely outside our control and depends on the athlete.
- We are not affiliated with the NCAA, the NAIA, the NJCAA, any conference, or any college. No school listed in the directory endorses this service.
- We do not contact coaches on your behalf, we have no relationship with them, and we cannot make one answer you.
- Being listed in our directory does not mean a program is recruiting. It means the school publishes that coach’s contact details.
7. About the recruiting rules we show you
The service shows what the recruiting rules for a division appear to say about when contact may begin, and cites the bylaw it is relying on. Read that as a helpful summary, not as a compliance ruling.
- Rules change, and our copy can be out of date. The NCAA amends bylaws on its own schedule and does not tell us.
- Where we do not know, we say “unknown” rather than guessing. Several divisions and activities are marked that way on purpose, because we could not find a primary source we trusted. An “unknown” is never quietly turned into a “permitted”.
- Eligibility decisions are made by compliance offices, not by us.For anything that actually affects eligibility, ask the school’s compliance office or the NCAA Eligibility Center. Nothing here is legal advice.
8. Using the program directory fairly
The directory exists so one family can introduce one athlete to programs that fit. That is the only thing it is licensed for. You may not:
- Export, scrape, resell, or redistribute the directory, in whole or in part.
- Use the addresses for bulk marketing, for a different business, or for anything that is not this athlete’s own recruiting.
- Send anything to a coach that misrepresents who the athlete is or what they have done.
- Share one account across several athletes who are not in the same family.
Coaches are people with jobs, and their willingness to publish an address depends on it not being abused.
9. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 8, that uploads content it has no right to, or that is being used to harass someone. Where the situation allows it we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data. You can close your own account whenever you like.
10. Service availability
The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of defects, or that film will never fail to upload. We aim to keep it working and we fix what breaks, but this is a small product and it comes with no uptime guarantee.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Cannon Potter is not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including a missed recruiting opportunity, a scholarship not offered, or a message that did not reach a coach. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Some states do not allow certain limitations, and where that is the case, these limits apply only as far as that state permits. Nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
We will email account holders before a material change takes effect and update the date at the top. If you do not agree with a change, cancel before it applies.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, and disputes belong to the courts there.
